Maryland

Maryland is not a true story but rather the artistic response to the murders of Sabina Nessa and Sarah Everard, the latter raped and murdered by a police officer in 2021 in London. Angry women share their disbelief and despair in the chorus as they observe police behavior after a rape. We join that chorus to help inspire change. (*)

(*) In Spain, according to the latest annual report of the Ombudsman, many victims of gender violence complain of police contempt when they go to report and how police officials do not offer them respectful treatment, do not believe their testimonies, or take them “for crazy people or spiteful women.”
